I already feel inspired and ready to get to work. Scroll down a bit to check on how easy it is to make the ham & cheese appetisers.

How to make ham & cheese puff pastry appetisers

It is best to start by defrosting the puff pastry, or let it defrost in the fridge overnight to avoid breaking it. As soon as the dough is elastic enough, you can turn on the oven at 375F and allow it to preheat while you’re preparing the food.

Lay a baking sheet over the baking tray. Carefully place the dough onto the baking sheet. Make sure you have the same amount of the dough left aside because you will need it later to top the composition.
Now spread evenly the mayo-Dijon sauce to cover well the entire surface of the dough. You can be generous with it if you like the appetisers creamy and saucy.

At this point cover the surface with one layer or ham slices. Then, just like shown in the picture, top it with a layer of cheese.

Remember the remaining dough? It’s now that you need to place it on top of the ingredients. You will kind of get a gigantic sandwich. Use a sharp knife to cut the big sandwich into small cubes, into bites. Finally, beat one egg and spread the egg wash over the last layer of puff pastry and generously sprinkle sesame seeds. That is all it take to prepare the ham & cheese puff pastry appetisers, isn’t it piece a cake?

How to bake ham & cheese puff pastry appetisers?

The baking tray is full with soon-to-be delicious appetisers and all you need to do is insert it into the preheated oven at 375 F and allow to bake for 20-25 minutes. When done, take the tray out of the oven and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes before serving.

How to serve the appetisers?

These puff pastry bites are so good they don’t need anything else to be served with. However, to make it a rounded meal, I would accompany the appetisers with a green salad such as the Spinach Avocado Salad or the Country Style Tomato Salad. Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I did!
