Experience the taste of a 10-minute Greek-style feta cheese-wrapped pastry and enjoy the perfect balance of feta cheese, honey, and thyme in a flaky puff pastry shell.

I like Greek food and all that this excellent culture offers. I have tried this simple and easy recipe in Greece and fell in love with it. A perfectly balanced taste of feta with honey and thyme creates a mouthwatering burst aroma.

The classic recipe requires filo or phyllo sheets, but I replaced and obtained a delicious piece of feta with flavours because I had just puff pastry. Once again, I convince myself that nothing is impossible in a woman’s kitchen, as you can play with ingredients and obtain something magical and tasty.

Feta-wrapped puff pastry Greece is a country where you can find different cheese dishes, and according to the USDA, Greece consumes the most cheese per person. Summing up, one can easily observe that cheese is very important and super delicious in many dishes. For example, Shrimp Saganaki is a dish filled with feta cheese; it is not just a delicious plate but finger-licking. Also, the Greek salad, feta dip, or baked feta cheese with tomatoes are simple but truly unique and delicious recipes. Feta has a mild and earthy taste; this is why it tastes delicious and plentiful, along with other ingredients.

Can I use puff pastry instead of filo?

Yes, you can replace any kind of pastry, but you have to know that the results may differ. Filo is a very thin kind of dough that, when cooked, makes it super crispy and crunchy; this is why cooking an ordinary pastry can be harsh and less crisp. However, Greek-style feta cheese-wrapped pastry is another level of satisfaction and deliciousness.

Can I eat baked feta?

Feta cheese, like brie, gorgonzola, or Parmesan, can be cooked in any way. Feta is a good piece of cheese that can be fried, baked, or cooked in an air fryer. It is a well-known worldwide appetiser that is tender and creamy.

Can I replace feta with another cheese?

feta cheese recipeSure, you can, and you can discover new tastes and recipes. Feta is a creamy cheese that can be easily replaced with creamy gorgonzola, brie, halloumi, goat cheese, and even ricotta.

What is Feta cheese?

Feta cheese is the traditional Greek cheese made of sheep milk with a soft and crumbly texture, usually odourless. It is one of the most frequently used cheeses in Greek dishes that nicely pairs with everything. Fresh or cooked, feta cheese tastes delicious. Read more about feta cheese here.

Why is my feta not melting in the oven?

Feta cheese has high water and acid content, making it creamy but not melt. It is not that cheese that gets you the result of melting. Feta gives you a creamy, gooey result with a beautiful structure paired with honey.
