Nothing warms more your heart than a cup of delicious latte flavored with some cinnamon and a sweet syrup.
I am a sucker for everything that is sweet and dolce. A cup of dolce latte, on cold days, is probably everything I need to warm up my feelings.
Making warm and cozy drinks is a sweet pleasure. Some simple ingredients and you will serve a restaurant like cocktails. Here, optional, you can add some alcohol, but you can make it simple and easy without it.
If you add some ice cubes, then you can easily consider it a summer refreshing drink. However, if you make it my way then you will enjoy a winter aromatic and full of flavors drink. I like to make the dolce syrup by myself, this is why I consider it so special and so delicious.
This is definitely my favorite latte I serve. I adore coffee, coffee cookies, coffee’s aroma in the morning, but a latte with some dolce syrup and cinnamon spices is sometimes all I need on a late evening.
How to make Cinnamon syrup?
Cinnamon syrup is an incredibly quick and easy to make at home woody spice and it is a delicious way to add a nice individuality to your favorite drink. Just add a splash of this rich and flavorful syrup to your coffee, tea, cocktail, or even milk, and bring it to the next level personalized and ultra-aromatic. Once you discover homemade fragrant cinnamon syrup, it will become a must-have ingredient in your kitchen. Nothing tastes better than enriching your favorite drink or spicing up the best pancakes or cakes with homemade cinnamon syrup.
Making homemade syrup is rather better than buying commercial ones. First, the one made at home is kind cheaper than the commercial one, then you always know what goes into it. Also, if desired, you can play with extra aromas that paired perfectly with cinnamon – try to add some clove, anise, or a vanilla bean.
Grab a small saucepan and pour into it 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of water, and 3-4 cinnamon sticks. Turn the heat up and bring the saucepan to a boil. Once bubbling lower the heat. Leave it simmering, stirring constantly. Once the syrup thickened leave it cool down at room temperature. Strain syrup through muslin and then transfer into a sterilized glass bottle with lid. Store refrigerated for up to a month.
For note: you can substitute brown sugar with granulated sugar, but I prefer the first one as it gives the syrup an even more woody aroma. Also, I find cinnamon syrup tastier by adding ground cinnamon (qualitative organic cinnamon powder) than cinnamon sticks. For a nutty flavor, before adding water brown firs sugar with spices.
How to make Cinnamon Dolce Latte?
I always advise my friends not to feel intimidating and use their imagination with desserts and drinks recipes. With each spice, a combination of spices you will discover new and new recipes and tastes. So happened with this Cinnamon Dolce Latte. Surely, I have heard about it before, but never tried and have no idea what goes into it. Once, on a cold evening, my friends come to visit me and crave something warm and tasty. So, I had to invent a fancy drink. Thanks to them now you can also benefit from this recipe.
Make cinnamon syrup according to the instruction described above. Prepare a cup of espresso shot directly in the cup you are going to serve latte. Add 2 tablespoon of cinnamon syrup and some drops of vanilla extract. Make some milk foam using a milk frother, coffee machine, or any other device you have. If you do not have any do worry and just add warm milk. Pour the milk into the coffee mixture and finish with the foam on top. Sprinkle some cinnamon and serve with pleasure.
I adore espresso and the strong coffee aroma it offers to revitalize my feelings. So, I rarely drink coffee with milk, but when I crave for a cup of it, I definitely make a cinnamon dolce latte in the best way.

- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup brown sugar
