Barbeque coating for tomatoes:
This coating is a find for me, as I never believed BBQ sauce could be paired with fresh tomato. It probably sounds strange, but combined with toasted peanuts and sesame seeds, it is heavenly.Â
For beginning, roast peanuts in a skillet over medium heat. Stir regularly using a silicone or wood spatula to prevent burning and ensure even roasting. Toast until nuts turn golden and become fragrant.
In a separate dry skillet, toast the sesame seeds. For more flavor, add some garlic cloves to the sesame. Roast for about 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown and fragrant. Once ready, remove the garlic.
Now, combine BBQ sauce, vinegar, olive oil, and toasted seeds and nuts in a mixing bowl.Â
How to slice a tomato?
The main thing you should count on whenever you have to work with vegetables is a super sharp knife – and the best is the chef’s one. So, let’s slice tomatoes to get little colorful edges for our refreshing dish. Arrange the tomato vertically on the cutting board and cut it in half straight through the core. Start cutting straight from the stem end to the bottom to quarter the fruit. If you want the wedges thicker, eights it. For firm wedges, make sure you always keep tomatoes in a vertical position.Â
