Baked Turkey Meatballs

Turkey meatballs are super tasty, tender, and absolutely delectable. This dish will pair great with any side dishes, and the whole family will adore and savor it.

Why turkey meatballs? Turkey is more dietary rather chicken, and more healthy. It is packed with protein and lots of vitamins and minerals. We all know that turkey is a kind of dry meat, but this recipe takes it to another level as I have added aromatic tomato paste, garlic, a lot of Mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. What else to dream of? Those who love cheese as much as I do will find this recipe out of this world – finger-licking and quick to make.

Baked Turkey MeatballsI like meatball cooked in anyways, however, this recipe caught my eyes due to the creamy sauce with a lot of cheese. First, I always fry them a little on each side to obtain some crispy sides. Then coated in tomato sauce enhanced with a lot of cheese I bake meatballs for 10 to 15 minutes to be sure that they are fully cooked on the inside.

I have added a lot of herbs and seasoning to the ground turkey meat to make the meatballs more aromatic and flavorful. It is a hearty and satisfying dish this is why I recommend you to make two or three meatballs for each person. What I adore to add in meatballs is some sesame seeds, for today I have skipped this moment, but if you like, you can easily add some to make them more crunchy and for a nice/different aspect.

Baked Turkey MeatballsNothing screams more a delightful dinner than some turkey meatballs paired with some mashed potatoes, polenta, boiled rice, or some spaghetti. Try this simple recipe that will brighten up your life.

How To Make Baked Turkey Meatballs?

Baked Turkey MeatballsJuicy meatballs bathed in plenty of tomato sauce with layers of flavorful Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese will become your mealtime hero. Baked meatballs are a perfect dish to make if you have to feed a crowd.

Traditional meatball recipes call for a mix of different meats, but this recipe keeps it simple with ground turkey only. Turkey meat is lean and mild.

In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped onion, granulated garlic, smoked paprika, ground black pepper, one egg, and a good pinch of salt. Using hands, blend everything well until everything is combined.

Baked Turkey MeatballsNow form meatballs, about the size of a ping pong ball. The easiest way to shape the meatballs is by using an ice-cream scoop. But telling the truth, I prefer to shape the meatballs by hand. Grease palms with some oil and form the balls by rounding meat in hands. I use to prepare the meatballs in advance and then fry them all at once.

Preheat a large saute pan over medium heat and add three tablespoons of olive oil. When the oil is hot, drop the meatballs gently. Fry meatballs on all sides until beautiful golden color, and then stir in 1 cup of tomato puree. Adjust the sauce for seasoning at your taste, cover the pan and bring it to a shimmer.

Baked Turkey MeatballsOnce the sauce is bubbling, sprinkle over meatballs ½ cup of each shredded Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Send the pan to the preheated oven at 375°F and bake meatballs for about 15 minutes. Serve the meatballs hot topped with fresh parsley.

More else what I like about this turkey meatballs recipe is that my daughter also adores eating it. You can make a bunch of meatballs and refrigerate or freeze an amount for later on other days when you are out of ideas and time. Just keep them in an airtight container and defrost them overnight before cooking.
