Christmas White Russian Cocktail

When the festive table is ready to be savoured, nothing more than a fancy and delicious cocktail is missing. White Russian is a heady cocktail full of aroma and colours that nicely completes a Christmas table.

White Russian is the counterpart of the Black Russian cocktail that is a must-try if you still didn’t.

Okay, many of you will say: why should I drink a cocktail when a glass of champagne or wine is more than ideal. And you will be right, a glass of elegant champagne, you can check my Champagne Cider cocktail recipe here, or wine will be a super great idea.

Christmas White Russian CocktailBut still, if speaking about Christmas or other occasions, I want something magical and unique.

I didn’t know why, but this cocktail came to my mind. White Russian is an easy evening late cocktail to enjoy and savour if you are a fan of strong and heady drinks. It is a delicious and unique cocktail just perfect for holidays.

This cocktail dates back to the 60s but got its popularity after the famous Coen brothers’ movie – the Big Lebowski. It is still famous and coffee-licious with an inviting texture, truly fancy and aromatic.

You can make it more holiday-like if you rim the glasses in some cinnamon/brown sugar mixture and just pour the mixture over some ice cubes.

This White Russian cocktail is easy to make, tastes great, and is one of the most popular vodka cocktails. The difference between its counterpart Black Russian – lays in the creaminess of heavy cream or skipping it in the Black Russian.

Christmas White Russian CocktailWhat to love about White Russian?

Nothing more than the aroma of coffee along with vodka in a glass.

Kahlua, vodka, heavy cream, and your imagination – are the only ingredients to make a magical and unforgettable evening.

I had tried my first White and Black Russian cocktail when I was working in Reno in a casino. Okay, this is another pair of shoes, but I have tried a lot of drinks there that I enjoyed and memorised. Another vodka cocktail that has also caught my eye was a simple mixture of a shot of vodka with baileys. I really enjoy drinking a nice-looking, delicious cocktail. It is more girl-ish but very lovely and yummy.

White Russian is one of those cocktails you want to enjoy more and more. It is heady, but at the same time, nicely enjoyable and tasty. This cocktail can be made in various ways, simply authentic ( when you mix the ingredients and serve as it is) or fancier as I did.

The rich and balanced coffee aroma makes this drink have a moderate sweetness, just perfect to treat yourself anytime you want. Try to spoil you with a fancy and delish cocktail.

Why serve White Russian fancier?

Whipped cream topped with some decorations is optional, but it adds a note of refinement and elegance. I adore enjoying beautiful and exciting cocktails. For example, you can check some of my popular ones:

How to make White Russian?

Making a White Russian cocktail is easy, simple, and enjoyable. A moment of creation that has no limits and ultra patience.

You will need just some ingredients and some nice old-fashioned glasses.

Kahlua, vodka, espresso, heavy cream, ice, whipped cream (optional) are the ingredients you just need. If you don’t have Kahula, replace it with another coffee liquor you have at home.

Christmas White Russian Cocktail IngredientsFor two servings:

Extract a shot of fresh espresso from your coffee machine.

In a cocktail shaker, pour two shots of vodka, two shots of Kahula, espresso and gently shake to blend. It should make a fresh float cream on top. Watch the video below 👇

Take some old fashioned glasses, fill them with ice and pour the mixture.

Stir slowly the cream and let it combine.
