Warm baked pears are an amazing recipe that looks absolutely delicious and is so easy to prepare. My family adores this fall treat, and I often make it on a daily basis, especially during harvest season. Typically harvest season offers us one of the sweetest, cheapest and colorful pears that creates lovely flavorful dishes.
Once pears are baked in the oven, just like baked apples, they turn meltingly tender. Roasted pears always work out delicious, and their natural sweetness and flavor enhance even more while baking. This recipe definitely satisfied my sweet and, at the same time, healthy craving. Roasted pears make a beautiful dessert that will fill your home absolutely fantastic smell.

What is the best way to cook a pear?
Definitely – roasted pears – this is what came to my mind first. Probably, it sounds too simple. But once you try, I assure you, you will change your mind. A pretty simple and, at the same time, a fabulous example is our recipe – Roasted Pears With Blue Cheese. You can not even imagine how great baked pears pair with a sour taste of gorgonzola. And who can resist backed pears nicely served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream?!
How do I know when the pears are cooked through?
Pears are completely cooked when you can insert a toothpick and have it easily slide out.
Do I have to peel pears for baking?
For this recipe, I have peeled the skin off. But honestly speaking, in some recipes, I leave the skin on as it looks more fancy and elegant. For example, in my previous roasted pear recipe, I left the skin on to maintain the beautiful shape of the pear.
If you want your pear to be smoother, then peel off the skin.
What type of pears is best for baking?
In my opinion, any pear will work for this recipe. But Anjou and Bosc are great for baking because they hold nice shape and texture!
Can I use apples instead of pears for this recipe?
Definitely, you can! Make sure you grab firm and fresh apples.
How do you make Roasted Pears with Cashew Sauce?
The roasted pears with cashew sauce take just 7 ingredients and less than 10 minutes to put the ingredients together. For the rest 20 minutes, you will train your patience. The good news about this recipe is that no processed sugars are used. It is the best of the best and the healthiest desserts you can make. The cashew sauce with cardamon adds smoothie texture and warm fall flavors.
First, we have to take care of cashew sauce. To get smooth and nice cashew sauce, you have to soak the nuts. So, transfer the nuts to a bowl, cover them with cold water and let soak overnight. In case you have no time or forget to make this in advance, then soak the cashew in warm water for at least one hour.
Once you have cashews hydrated, drain and rinse them. In a food processor, ground about 4-6 whole cardamom pods. Then transfer nuts to a food processor along with cardamon. Now make sure to grab a soft and pliable vanilla bean. Otherwise, before using, soak it for 10-15 minutes in lightly warm water. Cut the vanilla in half and then split each piece down the center using a sharp knife. Make sure you scrape out all of the seeds. Add vanilla seeds to the blender along with the cashews. Moreover, pour along with nuts, maple syrup, and almond milk. Process until creamy and smooth. Set aside.
Now it is pears time. Preheat the oven to 375 °F. In a mixing bowl, stir together maple syrup, lemon juice, and ground cardamom. Grease the bottom of a baking dish with butter.
Wash and pat dry the pears. Cut them in half, remove the peel and core. Generously toss them in the maple syrup mixture. Place the pears cut-side down in the baking dish. Pour any remaining maple syrup mixture over the pears. Sprinkle small pieces of butter, almond flakes and 4-5 whole cardamom pods on the top of the fruit. Transfer to the oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Then gently turn them over and continue roasting for 10 more minutes, until soft and tender.
Serve baked pears warm topped with cashew cream and some tosed almond flakes.
