A club sandwich is good but turkey club sandwich pinwheels are even better! Besides being super easy to make, the pinwheels are lip-smacking.

A plate of turkey pinwheels on a table is like a magic trick, it will disappear in a matter of seconds because it is that delicious and inviting. This no-cook recipe is a treasure because it is prepared in less than 10 minutes yet keeps your stomach full for the entire day.  The turkey club sandwich pinwheels are delicious, healthy, and filling! What are you waiting for? Let’s get down to business!

What do you wrap pinwheels with?

To make the perfect turkey club sandwich pinwheels you need the correct ingredient. You can use a variation of classic flour tortillas, corn tortillas, and flatbread such as lavash. I went for lavas because I prefer this one over the tortillas when making the pinwheels. For example, I used the same lavash for making the delicious tuna egg pinwheels. I like lavash because it is elastic and because it can fit as many ingredients as I like and need.

However, feel free to use tortillas for this delicious turkey club sandwich pinwheels because the result is evenly delicious and appetizing!

How to fold a pinwheel wrap

The key to success, or the secret to having perfectly round pinwheels that will not fall apart is to tightly roll them. Therefore, once you’ve laid all the ingredients, roll up the tortilla or the lavash very tightly. Take one end of the tortilla or the lavash over the top and start rolling tightly at the very beginning to avoid a hole in the middle. Repeat to all tortillas if you make more than one. This is how the pinwheels stay beautifully compact upon slicing.

How do you keep wraps from breaking?

Keeping the wraps from breaking may be a real challenge even when making the turkey club sandwich pinwheels. Luckily I have found a useful trick that I use anytime I make pinwheels – wrapping the stuffed tortilla in cling film and put in the fridge for about 15 minutes. By doing so, all the ingredients are sealed and they kind of take shape and stay firm even after unwrapping. Moreover, the moisture from the inside help the ingredients bond better. When the 15 minutes expire, unwrap the cling film and the stuffed tortilla is ready to be sliced and transform into beautiful turkey club sandwich pinwheels.

However, make sure you don’t keep the wrap in the fridge for too long as it can become too moist and may break if the tortilla or the lavash is too thin.

Ingredients for the turkey club sandwich pinwheels

Just pick your favorite cream cheese flavor or mayo, a meat deli, and tasty extras and you’re done. As you may have already supposed, the ingredients for the turkey pinwheels are the following:

  • Tortillas or lavash
  • Turkey Ham
  • Cream cheese or garlic mayo
  • Bellpepper
  • Tomatoes
  • Romaine lettuce leaves
  • Green olives & pickles to pin
  • Onion if preferred

How to make the turkey club sandwich pinwheels?

Start making the turkey pinwheels by preparing the ingredients. Wash the vegetables and pat them dry. Slice the tomatoes and cube the bell pepper and onion if preferred. Then lay the tortilla or the lavash and spread it with cream cheese. Then top the tortilla with romaine lettuce leaves, your favorite turkey ham, and the slices and cubed veggies.

Now tightly wrap the tortilla just as described above. Wrap the stuffed tortilla with cling film and send it to the fridge for 10-15 minutes. Watch the video below:

Next, remove the soon-to-be turkey club sandwich pinwheels from the fridge and unwrap the cling film. Place the stuffed tortilla on a cutting board and use a sharp knife to slice the pinwheels. To make even turkey club sandwich pinwheels it is best to slice the tortilla in half, then the half again in 2 halves, and so on until done. To make sure the pinwheels will not break upon cutting, slice them to be about 1-inch thick.

Finally, pierce one olive and one small pickle with serving toothpicks and pin each pinwheel to secure them as well as to be easier to serve. Your colorful and delicious turkey club sandwich pinwheels are ready!

How to serve the pinwheels?

Serve the turkey club sandwich pinwheels immediately as prepared or store them in the fridge covered with cling film to avoid them getting dried out.  It is a great appetizer that can be served with a salad such as the spinach avocado salad or the mixed greens salad with apricot vinaigrette.
