3 Steps to make homemade instant pot tomato sauce

  1. Chop 1 onion and mince 5 cloves of garlic. Now, turn on the Instant Pot at the sautee program and saute chopped onions and minced garlic for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Cut 3 tomatoes in half and put the tomatoes with the cut side down in the Instant Pot. Let the tomatoes infuse aroma and smooth for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, take the tomatoes out and peel off the skin. This steaming process helps to peel off the skin easily.
  3. When the skin of tomatoes is peeled, put them back in the pot and use a spatula to crush them. It should look like a thick sauce, not too liquid or too thick. Close the lid and let it saute for up to 15 minutes. Open the lid and add 1 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp salt, and 1 pinch pepper. Serve next to pasta or baked veggies.
