HOMEMADE REFRESHING PEACH ICED TEA

Stay refresh and cool this summer with a super-easy homemade Peach Iced Tea. A natural sweet drink to be served by all ages. A must at any parties or summer BBQ. A shot of rum for adults will only make this peach iced tea taste even better.

So classy in a glass – this homemade peach iced tea is a sweet and healthy indulgence on a hot summer day. It couldn’t be easier to make a peach drink at home.

Well, summer is all about revitalizing and super fresh cocktails. Either with alcohol or without, any summer drink is welcomed. In my family, I frequently make homemade drinks as they are more natural, without artificial flavours, and less sweet. I try to always skip sugar with honey as it is healthier and less pungent.

For today I have decided to make a peach iced tea lemonade as I simply adore peaches, especially now that is their season. At my local farmer’s garden, I find the best and most delicious peaches at a low cost. And because now are their season I have decided to make one of the best summer cocktails of the freshest ripe and sweet peaches.

HOMEMADE REFRESHING PEACH ICED TEA

To stay hydrated and fresh, you will need a glass of fresh peach iced tea, instead of water. Even though water is always the best option, however, on a hot summer day, you want to be spoiled with a more special cocktail.

Peach Iced Tea is a must-make and a must-drink summer cocktail especially on warm days to cool down.

Fresh or canned peaches?

Both version go well, but because it is summer the best tasting and most delicious peaches are fresh. In winter, you can definitely opt for canned peaches to make this drink so Christmas and so holiday. Both ways you will serve a nice cold drink to refresh and be nicely spoiled.

I adore peaches’ syrup with tea and some ice – such a great combination. My daughter simply adores a glass of this perfectly sweet and healthy peach drink.

What is the peach tea good for?

Homemade Peach Iced Tea

Homemade peach tea contains antioxidants that help your skin look nice and younger. Also, it has vitamins and minerals that are beneficial for your health. Peaches are full of calcium and fluoride for dental and bone care, so in summer it is very important to eat more seasonal peaches.

Freestone peaches and clingstone peaches are one of the best and most popular for making one of the best tasting iced tea. They are sweeter and easily pulls away from the flesh.

How to make peach iced tea?

Making peach iced tea at home is a simple pleasure. I adore peaches, but peaches in syrup are simply mouthwatering. It is a quick and easy process and if you follow my steps you will get quickly convinced that making peach drinks at home beats any store-bought ones.

Homemade Peach Iced Tea

The ingredients:

  • 3-5 ripe and juicy peaches. I have used 3 soft to hard sweet peaches as I usually try to make this drink just for the dinner. I love how it tastes fresh and at the moment. However, in case you want to make more of it, simply add more peaches.
  • 2 bags of good quality black tea
  • 1 litre of water ( 500ml of boiling water and 500ml of steal water)
  • ½ cup of sugar or 2 tbsp of honey
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint leaves for decoration

Wash the peaches. Take a cutting board and start slicing 3 medium and ripe peaches.

In a medium saucepan, add peaches, ½ cup of sugar and 500ml of water and bring to boil over high heat. Simmer about 10-15 minutes until the peaches get soft and smooth.

Meanwhile, boil another 500ml of water and add your black tea bags to boil and leave for some minutes to infuse. Remove the bags, and let it cool for some minutes.

For the syrup the rule is simple: 1 cup of water is combined with ½ cup of sugar and 1 or 2 sliced peaches.

For note: in case you want is more like a smoothie-like then mash down the peaches into a pulp, so that you obtain more juice.

In my case, I have used them slices as they sauteed.

Take a jar and add ice cubes some fresh slices of peaches and some mint leaves. Pour the peach syrup and 1 cup of tea. In case it is too sweet add some cold steal water. At your discretion and taste.

Serve immediately or store it for some hours in your fridge.

What is the best tea to use?

You can use good quality black tea bags, or loose leaf tea. Also, you can use green tea, but I like the earl grey black tea’s aroma mixed with peach syrup – it is simply irresistible. The combination is just one perfect.

Also, you can add some splash of white or spiced rum to make it more interesting and heady. A jug of rum peach iced tea goes so well at parties.

This peach iced tea can be made in advance and kept in the fridge overnight.

Let your self be healthily spoiled with a refreshing and delicious peach iced tea!
