How to cook cod in a pan?
This creamy fish casserole is our absolute favorite dish. And lemon is always a good idea when it comes to seafood. Fish, especially cod cooks really quickly, so make sure you have all ingredients at hand.
Before you start cooking, using a paper towel, pat dry any excess moisture from the fish filet. It is an important step if you want to get nicely browned fish. Cut fish filet into medium pieces.
Heat the skillet on medium heat with 2 tbsp of olive oil. Then add the same amount of butter. I advise you to pan-sear the cod in a non-stick skillet. Fry the fish for about 3 minutes on one each side. While the fish is frying, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, fresh thyme, and lemon slices. Once the fish is nicely cooked, transfer it to the plate and set aside.
Using the same skillet with a bonus of fish flavors, add some white wine and scratch the bottom. Next, add some more butter, pour heavy cream, add lemon zest, and seasoning. You are free to add any seasoning you like to your fish dish. I like to add garlic powder and paprika. Stir frequently and cook for about 4 minutes. Now is time for shrimp. Add them and cook for 5 more minutes. At the end add fried fish, gently stir and cook for 5 more minutes. Turn off the heat and let it rest for some minutes to enhance all aromas.
And a result comes this – tender fish and shrimp with a bright lemon cream sauce!
