This Chicken Mushroom recipe made in a thick and garlic creamy sauce loaded with flavors will wow your family-dinner time. Ready in just 30 minutes, deliciously tasty, and surprisingly low in calories is a must try dish.
I admit that I frequently look to cook easy and quick dishes, but sometimes it is about cooking something special, something delicious, and hearty. This article is dedicated to my creamy chicken mushroom recipe where every bite is so flavorful, so juicy, and so tender. In my family, chicken is often prepared in different recipes. I opt for good quality chicken breasts or thighs, and rarely buy it from ordinary stores.
This great recipe is all about a rich and tasty garlic creamy sauce. We all know that fried or grilled chicken is tasteless, and easy to make, but the cream it is soaked in makes this dish so special and so delicious. I think this recipe is one of the best dishes I use to make in my skillet, because usually I love to bake.
This comfort creamy chicken mushroom recipe is very succulent, hearty, savory and very nostalgic for a family-friendly dinner. When you want to make an exquisite dinner, but don’t want to spend too much time on it, I think this rich and yummy creamy chicken dish is an escape. I think it is the go-to meal on an evening basis.
What I love most about this dish is the way it appetizingly looks and how nicely it can fit the table for special events. Garnish with some cilantro, and served with some quality white wine – this delightfully creamy chicken mushroom dish will simply be out of this world.
Made in one pan, this boneless chicken thighs recipe is very tender, inexpensive and versatile. This time I have bought already marinated chicken thighs as I was out of time, but wanted to cook a delicious and quick dish for the evening. Usually, I marinate the chicken, or other kinds of meat or fish myself, as I want to have the desired final result. Also, this recipe is full of protein and less carbohydrates, and can be a great recipe for those who are on a keto diet.
Crispy tender chicken fried to perfection and smothered in one of the best garlic creamy sauces is a must-try. I hope you will enjoy this meal the same as my family did, as the result is toothsome.
How to make chicken mushroom?
For this dish I have bought 4 boneless chicken thighs that were already marinated. When I have more time for cooking I definitely go for my home-made marinade, but this time I have chosen an already marinated chicken. Before cooking, I always try to have all my ingredients at room temperature.
First of all, I fry my mushrooms. I never wash them as I have read in many food blogs that washing the mushrooms is incorrect. For Note: in case you wash your mushrooms do not leave them too much in water as they will absorb too much water and the result will be tasteless, so just rinse and split them well.
In a skillet fry the mushrooms with some garlic butter about 7-10 minutes, until the water has evaporated. Remove them from the skillet, add some garlic and some drops of olive oil and bake the chicken tights until they are golden brown to perfection with a crispy skin. Usually, no more than 10 minutes on each side. When the chicken is almost ready, take them from the skillet and slice them. Okay, this is optional, but I love to serve smaller portions of chicken on a plate. Return the mushrooms and chicken into the skillet and pour the cream with 2 more cloves of garlic and fry at a medium heat for no more than 7 minutes, or until all the flavors have combined and the aroma it emanates is mouth-watering. Season with sea salt and black pepper, and garnish the dish with some fresh herbs.
The caramelized mushrooms with tender and soft chicken soaked in one of the best garlic creamy sauce will take your dish to a new level with their distinctiveness and delishness. For Note: when I cook the sauce I add some dry white wine, but in case you want to skip it – you can freely add some chicken broth. The taste is not so different, as I tried both methods, but a glass of nice dry wine suits better in this dish.
This versatile and savory chicken mushroom recipe made in a creamy flavored sauce can become one of your favorite dinners for your family or friends.
How to make cream of chicken mushroom?
I add the cream already in the skillet where I combine the fried mushrooms and chicken. Their mixed aromas with mashed garlic and cream, refreshed with some wine, are divine. I do not add parmesan to this creamy sauce as the fried chicken is already marinated and infused with intense aromas, so I skip the cheese for this recipe. I consider that parmesan here only adds calories, because my dish is already seasoned and salty.
This sauce is everything here, flavored with juicy aromas from the mushrooms and chicken.
What wine to serve?
When it comes to wine this is my best part to describe. I adore to serve a qualitative glass of wine during my dinners with my husband. This adds a romantic and lovely air.
For this recipe I would say that a red glass of wine like Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot – both not too pungent but dry – will suit this hearty and satisfying dish. But, for white creamy sauces I usually drink white wines like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Gris. I rarely drink red wines, but if I do – I drink only dry qualitative red ones.
Creamy Chicken Mushroom Recipe Tips:
- Use only qualitative/organic meat. I used organic chicken thighs.
- Make sure your meat is well-done cooked, as it is not a steak, and you don’t want to serve a raw meat. This is the point I usually cook chicken thighs for this recipe – they are cooked quicker and evenly.
- Avoid parmesan. Or, in case you still like to add it in your recipe add the grated qualitative parmesan.
- Substitute the wine with a chicken broth.
- Add sour cream, or any kind of milk you like – I always go for a heavy/fatty cream for this recipe.
- Use any kind of mushrooms you like – I have used champignons.
Make your 30 minutes meal look and taste incredible with the juicy, tender and aromatic chicken thighs soaked in the most delicious creamy garlic mushroom sauce.
