M&M cookies

If you thought that M&M are kids’ weakness, you were wrong because adults also find them chocolate-ish and sweet. Today, I have made one of my kids favorite cookies, M&M Cookies, that are fully packed with M&M candied and chocolate chips.

Nothing complicated, on the contrary, a beautiful plate full of Christmas goddesses.

M&M Cookies

As Christmas is knocking at the door, that means it is time for cookies. I just love to make them and then instantly enjoy them warm. Actually, December is especially warm for me as I adore baking and experimenting in the bakery. Get inspired by some of our Delice recipes :

M&M Cookies

This year my inspiration was M&M candies. The internet is full of M&M cookies recipes, but I adjusted the recipe to my tastes after some attempts. Surely, I have tried to see how fast they can be made, and now I know how delicious they are.

As I have already mentioned in many of my articles, I don’t like those sweet cookies made with a lot of sugar and flavors. These M&M cookies have a balanced sweetness as I have used brown sugar, but not too much.

M&M cookies are loaded with many M&M, thick, chewy, and soft inside. A lovely treat to enjoy warm or cold.

M&M Cookies

Brightly colorful, bakery-style, really good, and addicting are just some words that describe these fantastic M&M cookies. These cookies drive me insane as my family is simply obsessed with them. Since I have made M&M cookies for the first time, my kids always ask me to make them again.

Can you add M&Ms to premade cookie dough?

M&M Cookies

Definitely, you can! Surely I will note that there is no need to buy premade cookie dough, as it is too easy and simple to make cookie dough at home (even if you do not have a stand mixer in your kitchen). But, if for some reason … here is an advice for you. Make small dough balls and press them down a little to flat. Then, press some M&M candies directly into the dough and bake as usual.

Can M&Ms be substituted for chocolate chips?

M&M Cookies

If you bake following my recipe, then there is no need to substitute M&M with chocolate chips –  because I used them both! But if seriously, sure you can replace one with another because that does not affect the quality of the dough.

How do you make M&M cookies?

These colorful M&M cookies with crispy edges are incredibly chewy inside. No mess, special skills, and no chilling time are necessary –  and as a result you get delicious cookies that look just as outstanding as they taste!

Preheat oven to 350 ºF.

M&M Cookies

In a mixing bowl, sift the flour. Stir in baking powder and salt. Set aside.

Prepare your stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Beat the butter with brown sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy. Make sure you scrape the bowl sides and bottom if needed. I love to use brown sugar in bakery as it adds moisture, flavor, and chew.

Increasing the speed a little, add in the egg and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.

M&M CookiesLower the speed and add the flour mixture gradually. Mix until just combined. Switch off the mixer. Stir in M&M candy and chocolate chips using a spatula. With a medium cookie scoop, scoop cookie dough balls and arrange about 3-inches apart onto a layered baking sheet with parchment paper.

M&M Cookies

Bake cookies for about 15 minutes until lightly browned edges. If you want them crispier, then bake 2-3 minutes longer.

Once backed, remove M&M cookies from the oven and allow to cool on the baking tray for 5 minutes.

M&M cookies stay fresh stored at room temperature for up to 1 week.
