Air fryer pork skewer is a delicious and tender pork meat on the inside with extra crispiness on the outside. It will instantly melt into your mouth due to its softness and juiciness.
Pork meat is one of the most eaten meats in the world. It is a misinterpretation that this meat is fat and not good. Actually, it is fat, and in small portions, it is even good. Sugar and sweet products harm our health and body; however, natural fat is only beneficial for us.Â
For today I have made pork skewers, a trendy dish in my family. Rarely cooked in the house and often outside, pork skewers are always suitable for barbeques. When cooked outside, pork skewers taste better due to the grilled aroma, but to my wonder, they turned out to be juicily delicious in my air fryer.Â
This was my first experiment, and I have to be honest that I didn’t know how the result would turn, and to my wonder, they looked and tasted amazing. The crispy outside with an attractive golden brown color is magical and tasty. They are cooked in just minutes, but the only problem is that it takes longer to be ready. My air fryer’s basket is small, so I was cooking just two skewers at a time, and it took time for them to make. It is not a problem in my family, but it might be for others. It depends on you.Â
Can you put a skewer in the air fryer?
Sure, you can put wooden sticks in an air fryer. As I have mentioned in other articles, you can soak skewers before threading the meat to easier the process. I have cooked kabobs more times, and it was super okay with the meat and the sticks.Â
How long does it take to cook pork skewers?
At high heat, you can cook pork skewers for 10 minutes. It depends on the thickness of the meat. For example, I like to cut them medium as I like a mix of fat and meat together for more juicy and tender meat with a crisp outside. Also, I have threaded pieces of meat with veggies to make them look nicer and taste even better.
The ingredients:
- 2 lb pork meat (I have chosen pork shoulder due to its mix of meat with fat)
- One red onion
- One bell pepper
- Tomatoes optional
- Wooden skewers
- Seasoning
How to make air fryer pork skewers?
I bought a piece of marinated pork meat to earn more time to make it. However, in case you want to marinate the meat by yourself, please access this recipe for more info.Â
I have chosen pork shoulder due to its mix of meat with fat. I like when pork meat is juicy; this is why I frequently try to buy pieces of pork meat with some fat.Â
Also, I have used red onion as it is not too pronounced and intense, and bell pepper for crunchiness.Â
Preheat the air fryer to 400F (200C) for 5 minutes.
Soak wooden skewers in warm water, optional.
Take a large cutting board and cut pieces of the meat and the veggies.Â
Start threading pork cubes onto skewers, alternating with onion and bell pepper chunks.Â
Take the air fryer basket out, lay a sheet of parchment paper, and place it side by side.Â
I have placed two skewers in the basket; if your basket is more extensive, put more in your shallow baking basket.Â
Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350F (180C).
Take out and enjoy dipping in ketchup or any other sauces.Â
