Caramelized peaches with a hint of rum or cinnamon (optional) is always a summer treat in my family. A quick dessert to simply enjoy on an evening basis. What I adore about these great peaches topped with ice cream, is the way they look on your plate. I adore serving nice-looking, but definitely tasty and delicious, dishes. This simple dessert, made only of your summer sweet peaches, and topped with a scoop of ice cream, will make your dessert look like a restaurant-dish.

Warming them in some sugar or with some maple syrup, these delicious treats will add you tons of compliments. The ice cream flavors here are endless as you can top your preferred ones. I usually like to add vanilla scoops, rarely do I add citrusy one or even more sweeter ice creams.

grilled peachesI really scream for this great and healthy dessert, as it is so aromatic and flavorful. Also, the caramelized peaches have such a great golden texture that you simply can’t resist trying them.

If I haven’t yet convinced you, then follow the “how to make” steps to see how easy you can surprise your guests and family with a stylish dessert. This mouth-watering Caramelized Peaches with IceCream will become your favorite knock-out summer dessert.

What fruits go well with ice cream?

Peaches with ice cream make a great duo. They pair so perfectly that you can’t imagine them separately. However, other delish fruits pair also very well with ice cream. For example, a bowl of fresh strawberries with ice cream is also a nice combination.

grilled peachesCherries pair great with dark chocolate, while kiwis will pair great with some basil or mint ice cream. Bananas can also make great add-ins. Do not hesitate to eat fruits, especially in summer when they are so juicy and so fresh. Treat yourself with a scoop of ice cream and you will serve one of the easiest and delicious desserts.

Also, you can top some chocolate chips, crumbled corn flakes, honey, nuts, or anything you like to make this simple sweet treat look fancier.

How ripe should peaches be for grilling?

The best peaches for grilling without a doubt are fresh peaches. Fresh peaches are now available at any local farmer’s garden. They should not be too soft, not too hard. Peaches should look golden red and should have that intense peach aroma.

How to make Caramelized Peaches with IceCream?

When it comes to grilling and desserts of course my choice will fall on caramelized peaches. Grilling peaches is an extremely simple way to enjoy these delicious and juicy fruits.

For a crunchy topping and beautiful texture, I caramelized some almond nuts. For the recipe, you can see our Candied Walnuts recipe (this one is with butter). Just substitute walnuts with almond or any nuts you prefer.

toasted-almondsAlso, you can go easier and toast nuts with sugar in a saucepan. Combine ½ cup of almonds and 2 tbsp of granulated sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat. With a spatula ( wooden or rubber one) toast nuts stirring constantly for about 5-6 minutes. Once the sugar has melted and smelled like caramel pour nuts onto the pice of parchment paper. Then quickly spread out as much as possible. Set aside and let nuts cool completely. For the topping, I usually use almonds crumbs. For this transfer caramelized nuts in the food processor and pulse until the nuts are the desired size.

Now let’s come back to our peaches. Grab 3 peaches wash and dry them with a paper towel. Then cut them in halves and pit them.

Then heat a grill pan, greased with a tablespoon of unsalted butter. When you see the pan hot, sprinkle one teaspoon of brown sugar and add peach halves with the cut-side down. Grill peaches for about 5 minutes until they are tender and the sugar is caramelized. Now add a splash of rum if desired.

How to serve grilled peaches?

Caramelized Peaches with IceCream pairs perfectly next to some glasses of sparkling wine, on a lazy afternoon or at a late breakfast, as a dessert at a large table in the garden, around which you gathered some friends.

Caramelized peaches can be also served next to prosciutto or fragrant cheese. Just drizzle some drops of olive oil, and top with caramelized nuts and enjoy the best appetizer.

What a delicious spoiling moment a person can have while serving a great-tasting dessert with aromatic peaches.
