During the winter, I mostly crave raw fruits and vegetables. So, I prefer making salads and serving them with meat or a sandwich or eating them separately.

  • 2 cups white cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup carrot, shredded/grated
  • 1 cup celery root, shredded/grated
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 tbsp olive or sunflower oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅛ cup chopped fresh dill

3 Steps to make a red and white cabbage salad recipe

  1. Add 2 cups shredded red cabbage, 2 cups white cabbage, 1 cup carrot, 1 cup celery root, and 1 red onion to a bowl. Mix the vegetables. Use a knife or Mandoline cutter to shred cabbage, carrot, and onion. For shredding cabbage, first discard the outer leaves of cabbage, and then shred them.
  2. Season with ¼ tsp salt, 4 tbsp olive oil, and 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar. Mix and leave for 10-15 minutes. 
  3. Then, season with ⅛ cup chopped fresh dill. Your red and white cabbage salad is ready. Serve with meat dishes like roasted chicken
