Creamy Tomato Salad

Tomato salad in a creamy dressing is more than just an ideal summer salad. Ripe, end-of-summer garden tomatoes will make one of the best tastings creamy salads served next to anything.

I adore tomato salad, especially, coated in cream and infused with some herbs and fresh onion. One of my favourites way of eating creamy tomato salad is with a rustic, fresh loaf of bread. I adore soaking a loaf of bread into the tomato/creamy juice – such an old-fashioned habit, but so rustic and lively.

Tomato salad is one of the most frequently made salads in my house. Either with avocado, cucumbers, or simply as it is, this salad is truly healthy, fresh, and delicious. In summer, this salad taste even better as the end-of-the-summer garden tomatoes are so sweet and tasty that you will eat some of them before assembling the salad.

What I also adore about his great salad is that my daughter adores and eats it next to any grilled meat or fish. I made a habit at home, to introduce fresh veggies as they are so healthy and that she needs to eat them daily. She likes that salad, but not too much. However, I am glad to see her eating it any size she wants.

What dressing do you make for this salad?

Creamy tomato salad is packed with juicy and sweet ripe tomatoes, fresh red onion, herbs and all topped with a creamy dressing. Optional, you can substitute the sour cream with plain yoghurt, or some feta cheese. All these types of salads will have different taste, so in case you love all of them – try to make them on different days as variations.

This bright and colourful salad is an etalon summer salad due to its freshness and healthiness. This versatile tomato salad you can make of different kinds of tomatoes, either yellow or red onion, sour cream or plain yoghurt. It depends on your taste because if you want a milder and sweet taste, dare to use the yellow onion infused in a light creamy dressing. Also, you can easily add parsley, dill, basil, or chives to decorate this best tasting tomato salad.

Salads are a must on the table, so try to diversify and invent different kinds you like. My family adore all kinds of salads, from arugula salad, spinach salad, cucumber salad, Greek salad, to more complicate warm ones. This crowd-pleasing tomato salad is simple to make and truly delicious to enjoy.

Are tomatoes healthy?

Tomatoes are healthy to eat as they are packed with health benefits, antioxidants, and are full of good sources of vitamins. Some years ago, I have read an article about the benefits tomatoes has. Many of its great benefits are hidden, however, that article demasks many of tomato positive benefits. Tomatoes are very important to our daily menu as it is one of the greatest veggies to help against cancer. Its sweet texture is beneficial to our health so eating tomatoes are truly healthy and important.

How do you eat tomatoes?

Tomatoes are great and good to be eaten raw and cooked. Fresh and ripe tomatoes make one of the best salads. You can use them simply as they are, or mixed with other veggies, or coated in a creamy dressing.

However, tomatoes are also great when baked. When they are baked the juice they leave makes the dish texture moisty and juicer. You can check some of my recipes here

If you are using cherry tomatoes you can either avoid cutting them or simply cut them wedges. Heirloom tomatoes are also great in salads. Creamy Tomato SaladAdd salt and herbs at your discretion.

Garnish tomato salad with some thinly chopped chives and serve immediately. Try to eat it at the time you are serving this salad to avoid a soggy mess salad.

I do not recommend to store salads that have creamy dressing as they do not taste the same as you eat it right away. So try to make the amount you will enjoy just for dinner.
