Canned Tuna Sandwich

A canned tuna sandwich is not just a delicious aperitif but a hearty sandwich full of aromas and colours.

Canned tuna has always been in my comfort zone when making something quick and tasty. My daughter likes pasta with canned tuna, so when I am in a hurry, this is the perfect dish to make my daughter feel full and satisfied. This time, I wanted to make a sandwich where you can find boiled eggs, canned corn, tuna and many greenies. Simple, fast, and tasty.

Canned Tuna Sandwich Recipe Such sandwiches are always a win-win as you can assemble them quickly and enjoy them any time of the day. This is a cold appetiser; this is why assembling it and savouring it is just a matter of time. Some of my winning tuna recipes include Layered Avocado Tuna Salad, Tuna egg rolls, Tuna tartare, canned tuna dip, Tuna rice salad, Avocado tuna salad, Tuna pasta salad, and others.

Is a canned tuna sandwich healthy?

Many know that too much tuna fish is dangerous as it contains mercury, which is toxic for our bodies, and you may be right. But, in small quantities, tuna fish is healthy and good, especially Italian canned tuna. Tuna sandwiches are not the ideal main course of the day; however, as an appetiser, they are full of iron, magnesium, and other healthy nutrients that can provide a hearty starter. Also, it is a copious sandwich containing mayo that makes you feel full.

What can I mix with a can of tuna?

Canned tuna has an earthy taste but is super delicious and hearty; pairing it with many other ingredients such as onion, celery, mayo, and other ingredients will make it taste even better and lingering. I like these simple tuna dips with bread, tacos, chips, or nachos. Due to their saltiness, canned anchovies are one of the best pairs of canned tuna, green olives, boiled eggs, yoghurt instead of mayo, and others. Canned tuna pairs perfectly with many ingredients and creates something magical and tasty. Tuna sandwiches are those appetisers you can eat any time of the day and year.

Is canned tuna healthy?

If speaking about canned tuna, we all know that in small portions, everything is beneficial; you can read more helpful info here. Canned tuna is considered a low-fat protein fish full of omega-3 fatty acids. Fat is always vital to our body as it helps to better absorb vitamins and minerals from the dishes we are eating. Canned tuna has become so popular nowadays, as you can find a lot of tuna dishes in every restaurant.

How to make a Canned Tuna Sandwich?

Making canned tuna sandwiches at home to instantly enjoy or store them for another day is simple and easy. Some bursting aromas, such as canned tuna, have an earthy taste, so adding onion, greenies, and mayo makes it taste fantastic. My kids, as well as I, simply like this kind of sandwich that assembles quickly and needs no smell or mess.

Canned Tuna Sandwich Take a small saucepan and boil the eggs hard. Usually, it takes about 6-7 minutes after the water starts boiling.

Meanwhile, take a medium bowl and add the canned tuna, chopped pickles, onion and mayo, Dijon mustard, canned corn and greenies. Mix well to homogenise the mixture. Add seasoning after taste. Watch the video below:

Take the eggs off the boiling water and leave them for 2 minutes under the cold water. Peel off the eggs and smash them with the help of a fork. Add the eggs to the mixture and combine all the ingredients. Set aside.

Smash eggsOptional: I cut the loaf of big thick slices and grilled them in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to obtain crispy and crunchy bread slices. You can use the bread as it is, but a crispy slice tastes much better. Also, optionally, you can grease the bread with a clove of garlic for a more pronounced taste.

Canned Tuna Sandwich Take one slice of the tuna mixture, cover the sandwich with another slice of bread, and enjoy a moment of satisfaction and pleasure.

Enjoy.

Recipe tips:

Replace pickles with fresh ones or even celery stalks. A canned tuna with celery makes a great duo.

Add veggies and lettuce wraps.

Skip the bread and wrap it in a tortilla or bunt.

Store this sandwich until the next day. Canned Tuna Sandwich
