I adore shrimp cooked in anyways. Baked, roasted, or fried, all of them are great when shrimp is the main ingredient.
For today, I have prepared a more rustic dish, but at the same time so actual nowadays, shrimp parmesan. Maybe many of you may not be familiar with this dish, but probably have tasted once, and haven’t known the real name. Nothing more or too sophisticated than a pan full of shrimp, cream, and lots of parmesan. A 10-minute meal can turn out to be really delicious and out of this world.

Everyone goes mad about shrimp, especially when it is so creamy and so garlicky. This healthy protein dish is fantastic and coats a lot of flavours and aroma. What can be more thrilling and inviting, than a plate full of creamy garlicky shrimp in parmesan? Nothing beats this easy but truly delish dish, so this is why for today I have decided to make it for you. 

 As I have mentioned in some of my posts, my daughter and my man are simply crazy about shrimp recipes. Whatever I cook, it goes in seconds. 

This is a quick and easy dish to make and savour on a late lazy evening. You can dive some fresh baguette into the creamy sauce, also you can serve it topped on anything, or simply enjoy it as it is. I like to feel all the aromas in my mouth so I try to eat it alone as it is. The bursting aromas of all those flavours are really amazing and irresistible.

What wine goes for shrimp parmesan recipe?

Wines are my comfort territory so when it comes to a dish where a glass of good wine is needed than I never hesitate to add something qualitative. White wines are the best for fish, shrimp, and white sauces. Either Sauvignon blanc, Cheverny Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or other good qualitative wines. 

How to make Shrimp Parmesan?

Creamy Garlicky Shrimp ParmesanThis easy shrimp parmesan recipe will impress and delight you not only for its quickness but how flavourful it turns out to be. Also, it has a nice aesthetic appearance and a fantastic aroma. It is a light and easy dish for evenings as it cooks in minutes and isn’t too hearty. 

The ingredients:

  • One pack (1 lb) of shrimp peeled and deveined
  • ¼ unsalted butter
  • ½ glass of white wine, easily skip it if you don’t like alcohol in food
  • 1 cup of parmesan
  • 1 cup of heavy fatty cream or you can use unfatty cream
  • 5-7 cloves of garlic
  • Chopped parsley
  • Some dried basil and seasoning

Creamy Garlicky Shrimp ParmesanTake a large bowl, add the shrimp and season with some salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Toss gently to coat all the aromas.

Creamy Garlicky Shrimp ParmesanTake a large skillet, heat oil or some butter over high to medium heat. Once the skillet is hot, add the shrimp and cook 1-2 minutes on each side or until they are cooked evenly. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and cover with a lid to keep warm.

Creamy Garlicky Shrimp ParmesanIn the same skillet, add minced cloves of garlic with some more butter. Pour the wine the heavy cream and stir frequently. In 2 minutes add the parmesan and pour back the shrimp. Off heat, toss all the ingredients gently to infuse all the aromas. For note: I have used both parmesan and pecorino cheese as I adore the intense and salty pecorino taste. It is optional.

Simple and easy. This recipe will become one of your weeknight favourites due to its easiness and deliciousness.

Shrimp parmesan can be served as it is or topped on anything. Some of the most famous beds will be pasta, rice, or even mashed potatoes. It can pair great with black as well as white rice, different kinds of pasta, even rice pasta, as well as stewed or roasted veggies. I like to serve it as it is and to dive in some fresh bread in the creamy garlicky sauce. It is finger lingering and super tasty.
