You will instantly get addicted to these best sticky Chicken Barbecue Wings. Nothing beats more on the party table like a skillet full of flavorful, sweet, spicy, and gooey chicken wings. Kids, as well as adults, love this dish and can’t get enough of it.

Wherever you are going to parting or just an ordinary family evening, these sticky chicken wings will be your finger-licking best meal. This dish is my sweet indulgence. I adore how quick they are done, and how tasty and yummy some chicken wings can turn out to be. Generally speaking, I try to eat chicken as few as possible, but these barbecue wings are a guilty pleasure. One of the best appetizers on my party table was served with some French fries. I find this kind of dish easy to prepare, fun to eat, and truly delicious.

Sticky Chicken Barbecue WingsMany of us love Chinese food. These sweet/spicy chicken wings can be found in their restaurants made of one of the best recipes. However, I will show you how quick and easy you can make them at home saving money and the noisy restaurants. These best chicken wings tossed in one of the best sauces and glazed with an Asian-made topping, then baked in the oven are simply irresistible. This dish is one of those that quickly disappears if served at a party. There are days when you want to invite your friends and the moment that you will have to cook many dishes is truly scary and difficult. Cooking these great sticky wings saves you time and is really toothsome. Also, one more great trick about this dish is that you can prepare the wings in advance and just cook them 30 minutes before serving. If you marinate the wings a day before, they will be even softer, juicier, delicious, and mouthwatering. These chicken wings coated in one of the best homemade sticky honey sauces will surprise your family and friends at the highest level. Try, and create your own chicken wings recipe to nicely surprise your family.

How to make the sticky BBQ sauce?

Barbecue sauce

Well, before making one of the best sticky chicken barbecue wings, you will have to prepare the sauce while the wings are baking in the oven. You will need many spices and ingredients, but trust me they are worth any word and taste. These ingredients are easy to find in any store, or Asian store and are not expensive. Many of the ingredients I will show above I have at home in my kitchen.

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (any brand you like)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp of an ordinary ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard

Sticky Chicken Barbecue Wings

Take a small saucepan and add all the ingredients step by step. Start with the barbecue sauce, sugar, honey, mustard, and Worcestershire Sauce. Heat the barbecue sauce and stir frequently to make it look like a paste and to avoid sticking. Stir until the sugar melts (we know that brown sugar tends to melt slower) and until all the ingredients have been incorporated. The smell should be one of more pronounced ketchup, but nice at the taste. Lower the heat to a minimum and let it stay warm until your wings are ready baked. Leave a small amount of sauce to dip the wings in your favourite sauce, and the rest of the sauce top over the wings.

The result will be more than shocking – because your sticky chicken wings will look and taste amazing.

How to make the best sticky BBQ chicken wings?

Chicken wings ingredients

  • 14 chicken wings
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • One pinch of black pepper

Sticky Chicken Barbecue Wings

For this recipe, I have used 14 wings and doubled them as I cut the chicken wings into 3 sections, but throw the pinions off the wings. So I have 28 small wings that nicely and perfectly fit in one of my best skillets. I use my old but best skillet as I like the crunchy and crispy result I have baking them in it. I toss the cut wings in salt, pepper, and garlic powder and leave them about 20 minutes to marinate. Watch the video below 👇

Preheat the oven at 200 °C (400 °F). Arrange the wings nicely to the skillet and bake them for about 30 minutes, or until nicely brown. Then, I pour my barbecue sauce over the wings so I cover them totally in the sauce using a pastry brush. Bake the wings for 7 minutes more. The sticky and most delicious chicken wings are done and ready to be served. Serve the wings next to some of the remaining barbecue sauce and next to some French fries.

How long to bake chicken BBQ wings?

For this recipe, I usually try to buy the smallest chicken wings available. They should be very small as they are juicer and better for this great recipe. So, if I buy small chicken wings I usually bake them for about 30 minutes no more. If the chicken wings are bigger, then you can easily bake them up to 50 minutes or until nicely brown. It depends on the type of wings you like and are going to prepare.

How to store BBQ chicken wings?

I have to remember if I have ever stored any of the remaining wings. This great appetizer disappears so fast that I should not store any of them. But, in case you have some leftovers you can easily put them in an airtight container and refrigerate up to 2-3 days. You will only need to microwave them before serving.

Tips:

  • Barbecue sauce is an option here as you can make them of the different coatings. Either spicier, sweeter, or crispier.
  • Serve chicken wings next to Roasted Zucchini, Caramelized Carrots, Smashed Potatoes, or French fries as I do.
  • Bake the wings either on a baking tray or in a skillet. If you bake them on a baking tray do not forget to lay a sheet of paper as the sticky wings will make you a mess.
  • Marinate the wings in advance to save time and to make them softer and tender.
