Skillet Cauliflower with green beans makes it a flavorful and healthy vegan recipe to enjoy next to anything.

Skillet sauteed cauliflower mixed with frozen green beans and tossed in lots of spices is one of my favorite dishes. It is a simple salad that pairs great with many other dishes. My husband doesn’t like raw cauliflower, so I have to sauté or roast it for a smokey taste. It is a warm dish perfect for cold days. Cauliflower is a veggie I rarely cook at home because my husband doesn’t like it that much, and I have to cook it to serve it. However, my best replacement is broccoli which we all love. A simple dish that can taste fabulous when you adjust spices and dressings – a perfect symphony of tastes and flavors on a plate; this is the magic I have to make in my kitchen to make my family eat more veggies.

skillet cauliflower with green beansThis recipe caught my eye because of the cooked cauliflower; however, if you like it raw, you can make this simple dish with a raw one. It will be crunchier and healthier, but sauteed cauliflower is another versatile flavor if you are looking for an interesting new taste.

Should you boil green beans before sauteing them?

No, you don’t need to boil or steam the beans but cook them directly in the skillet for about 10 minutes. They will become tender and softer by sauteeing them.

Well, I rarely find good fresh green beans in winter, and they usually cost more money, while frozen beans will have the same taste and will be much cheaper.

What pairs with cauliflower and green beans?

cauliflower with green beansThis simple and easy recipe pairs nicely with many ingredients. For example, roasted potatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms raw or cooked, meat, and fish. Cauliflower with green beans, a simple warm salad, pairs with many dishes and makes an inviting table for everyone. For example, I have served it with boiled wild rice that tasted perfect and ideal. Usually, boiled rice is dry and sticky, but because I have cooked cauliflower and beans in a lot of oil and spices, they have perfectly synchronized. This customizable dish is easy to make and delicious to enjoy.

sauté yellow onionI like sauteed veggies as they are soft, warm, with lots of spices, and colorful. Such recipes complement others, thus creating a nicely balanced dinner or lunch.

The dressing:

Mix the spices with wet ingredients such as olive oil, vinegar, brown sugar, curry paste, soy sauce, and chili flakes in a large bowl.

Take a large skillet and saute for 3 minutes the yellow onion with 2-3 cloves of garlic. Please note that the onion should be cut into big slices.

Once the smell starts to intoxicate the room, add the frozen green beans. Cover the skillet with the lid and saute for another 5-7 minutes until the beans get softer and shine bright.

Once the veggies are ready and cooked, serve them next to the rice or simply as a warm salad next to anything. Top chopped parsley for a better aspect.

Enjoy!
