Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day, so try to make it healthy, nutritious, and delicious. Be it either eggs, scramble, or a tasty quiche Lorraine, I advise you to try to start your day with one of the healthiest dishes – Granola.

The first time I have tried granola with some sour cream, honey, and a lot of healthy seeds, I definitely got convinced that it will be on the list of healthy and nutritious breakfast dishes.

Once you find out how quickly and easily you can prepare the best granola at home, you will never buy it again. The healthy granola is made of oats, Wheaties, coconut, and seeds slightly sweetened with honey. Tasty crunchy granola is a perfect addition to your chia, yogurt, or simply as a bar if you add more honey. This crunchy homemade granola offers a lot of minerals and fibers – an ideal beginning of the day.

Nowadays, granola became so popular and famous that you can find a vast variety of it in many markets, but most of them are full of Es and sugar. Also, you can find it in the organic stores, but it might be too expensive. For the delicious granola I make at home, honey substitutes sugar and is a unifier for all the ingredients. You can add any type of seeds you like to make the best granola recipe tasting more flavorful, and yeap so healthy. While you bake it at home, the tantalizing aromas mixed of maple syrup, honey, oats and different type of seeds is goodness. The aroma it emanates is simply outstanding. Sometimes easy, but so healthy dishes save our time and make our days feel great. It is easier than you can imagine starting eating healthy, small portions, and of course delicious. Try to transform your eating habits with my easy tricks.

One more positive point about granola is that it can be stored for more days or even months in an airtight container. It can be stored in a cool, dry place in your kitchen, or the fridge.

This beloved granola recipe can be made as a great homemade gift, I try to always please my friends with some healthy/fruity homemade granola bars.

How to make healthy granola?

For this healthy granola, you can use any seeds you like. I like to make my homemade granola with oats, almonds, flaxseeds, coconut flakes, coconut oil, and of course honey. In the preheated oven, put the oats and bake for about 10 minutes until they get golden, then add all the mixture of seeds and bake for another 5-7 minutes. When the granola is baked, took it off the oven add coconut oil and honey to unify all the ingredients and leave it to rest in the turned-off oven. I leave my homemade healthy granola in the oven until it cools down and after that, I serve it with my home-made chia or yogurt. When I have tried it for the first time, I simply got mad about it – as it is so simple but so nutritious and hearty that you will start your day right and satisfying.

This healthy granola is a toasted mixture of rolled oats, different seeds, nuts, whole grains, unrefined qualitative coconut oil, honey and higher in fiber. You won’t go wrong with good-for-you ingredients from the fresh and healthy home-baked granola. Also, you can preserve this granola baked in your freezer, just cool down to room temperature and store it in a pack to avoid different aromas – up to 1-2 weeks, or even months. My daughter loves to add more fruits to this nutritious granola, and this is the trick I allow her just to avoid cornflakes bought from the supermarkets.

Granola Tips:

  • Granola, which in translation means a kind of breakfast cereal resembling muesli, is a healthy, nutritious meal to start your day right. You can not go wrong adding or mixing with different kinds of cereals/seeds.

  • Sometimes I like to add dried cranberries, walnuts, or any other types of seeds like pumpkins. I adore experiencing with granola and to bring more colors to our healthy breakfast meals.

  • You can mix granola with yogurt, cheese or sour cream, with an extra spoon of honey on the top.

  • Many still use citrusy flavor, to make it sourly/sweet with a dozen of fresh citrus zest.

  • Also, you can add chocolate chips, but only after the granola has been baked and cooled down.

  • For Note: do not forget to use parchment paper to avoid stickiness.

  • DO NOT overcook granola, bake it until it gets golden because it will continue to crisp as it cools down. If you overcook it, you will get a hard to chew granola.

Try to avoid paying big bucks for this easy to make at home granola recipe. One of the best things about granola is how versatile it is to substitutions. I am sure that once you will try it at home you will never again buy it in any restaurants, or stores. I adore this easy and so healthy breakfast meal, so I think you will like it too.
