One of the most comfortable and homie dishes is the Flat-Bread Cottage Cheese Pies — nothing too complicated, on the contrary, a simple dish to take you home.
What is flat-bread cottage cheese pie?
You all have that feeling when a dish takes you to your home memories and feelings. These flat-bread cottage cheese pies are one of those dishes that my mom used to make me and warm up my feelings when I was sad or had a bad time.
They are ready in minutes, and my daughter adores them as much as I did when I was like her.
When I want a quick, warm dish, then these flatbread cottage cheese pies are always on my list.
What kind of cheese is best to use?
I adore our fresh local farmer cheese that has a deep consistency and tastes fantastic. You can choose any kind of cheese, mix more of them, or simply use just one.
For example, I like to add some mozzarella as it makes the filling soggy and has a more cheesy/fantastic taste. I like cheese and anything connected with it.
How about the dill?
Here more is better. Cottage cheese with dill makes a great duo. The taste is fantastic and super delicious. You can replace the dill with spinach, but this is already Spanakopita, a Greek-style of pie. Super tasty, but my today’s recipe is another pair of shoes.
This easy pie recipe can be a great start to the day. Even though they are fried in butter (you can replace them with oil), they are super delicious, and in the morning, you can eat everything. This is my rule in the house.
Fry or bake?
If speaking about healthy, then baking them is the right choice. I love frying them in butter because they are more crunchy, crispy, and tastier. So, it is up to you to decide how do you want them to enjoy.
How to make flat-bread cottage cheese pie?
Making these cottage cheese pies at home is simple, quick, and delicious. All you need to have is a flatbread, cottage cheese, dill, one egg and seasoning.
I have skipped mozzarella as it is optional and of preference.
For note: I make this kind of cottage cheese pie in different ways. This one in the video below is one of my versions. The other version is greasing the butter over the flatbread before filling and frying them in the skillet.
Both versions are tasty, easy to make and simple.
You choose which one best fits you.
Making the process:
Cut the flatbread in length and set it aside.
Take a big bowl and mix cottage cheese, mozzarella, one egg with dill. Spoon a good amount of filling to feel the cheese melting into your mouth. Wrap as I did – watch the video.
Take the skillet and at medium heat, add 1 tbsp of butter and lay down the pies. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it fry for 5 minutes. Covering the skillet will make the cottage cheese with mozzarella melt and taste fantastical.
Take the lid off, and fry 1 minute more on the other side. They should look golden brown, crispy, and firm.
Serve them warm next to some sour cream.
So quick and simple that you can make flatbread cottage cheese any time of the day and year.
Can I store cottage cheese pie?
I don’t recommend storing these cottage cheese pies as they aren’t so tasty and crispy even after 30 minutes. However, in case you have some cottage cheese mixture leftover, you can easily store it in an airtight container and use it other days for different recipes.

What is flatbread and where do you buy or.
Flat bread is like filo sheets – a very thin unleavened dough used in bakery. It makes the pie softer and lighter rather an ordinary dough.
You can try and leave your impressions.
My daughter simply adores them.
