Nothing is better than this delicious burrata appetizers topped with some baked peppers. The creamy burrata cheese combined with juicy and flavorful bell peppers is like a sister and brother. They go perfectly together creating a nice burst of flavors in your mouth.
I simply adore burrata cheese. I adore it in salads more than mozzarella, due to its creaminess and juiciest texture. Also, I adore roasted veggies, but baked bell peppers the most! I adore its baked taste that pairs so nice with cheese. These kinds of side dishes are always welcomed at my party table. They go so fast and I always get compliments for them. It takes not so much mess and time, but you will like the result of these great appetizers.
I use to make this kind of dish as appetizers, but they are also lingering on a grilled bread greased with garlic and dizzied with some Balsamic glaze. This kind of Italian-inspiration is so easy to make and tastes heavenly. Also, I like this dish made in summer when the grill peppers’ aroma is much more intense and aromatic. In summer these easy and healthy appetizers are much more delicious and fresh.
What is burrata cheese?
As I have mentioned in one of my posts about burrata, it is a delicate, soft, and juicy fresh ball cheese, very much resembling mozzarella, but more creamy and with curds. This Italian-cheese is utterly delicious and pairs perfectly with cherries, arugula, roasted bell peppers, and other fresh or grilled veggies. It is a creamy cheese with a buttery consistency unlike any other cheeses, burrata has a fresh, soft, mild and smooth taste that constantly seduces. What makes burrata cheese so special and unique – is the creamy texture that hides on the inside. Even though it doesn’t have a rich and flavorful taste, it captures your heart with its soft and juicy texture.
Burrata cheese is made of fresh buffalo milk formed into a hollow pouch with a milky flavor and creamy texture. All the magic happens when burrata is sliced and the soft and creamy texture spills out from the inside. The effect is stunning. I got in love with this cheese instantly when I cut and tasted it.
How to make burrata appetizers with baked bell peppers?
These best appetizers are easy to make and tasty to savor. Quick recipes without much mess are always welcome in my kitchen. I adore simple, but delish meals prepared in minutes.
First of all, you will need to properly wash all the bell peppers. Set aside on a kitchen towel to absorb the water. Take a bowl and toss bell peppers in the seasoning (1tsp smoked paprika powder, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper).
Preheat the oven at 180 C (350F) and leave the peppers to bake for about 15-20 minutes. I usually buy small to medium size peppers to bake them quicker. Also, I like to bake different colorful peppers to have a bright and colorful plate (optional).
When the peppers are baked, leave them 10 minutes to cool down before peeling off the skin. I like to serve peppers without skin to avoid the mess on the party table.
On a big plate cut bell peppers slices, put the burrata, and grease the bread with some cream cheese. Drizzle generously with some olive oil and Balsamic glaze and serve immediately. These appetizers are so welcomed on my table as they bring more flavors to the other meals served alongside.
Can I serve these appetizers cold?
Yes, you can. These appetizers can be served cold, as well. Baked bell peppers can be easily stored, after being cooled down, in an airtight container for 1-2 days. Before serving, just warm them in the microwave for 30 seconds. Top with cherries, greenies, next to burrata cheese.
What to serve burrata appetizers with?
These comfort appetizers pair perfectly with any kind of dish. I use to make these side dishes as starters before eating hearty and copious meals. These are like some tricks to fool your stomach. But, I have to admit that they taste awesome.

These best-baked peppers are one of the best standby to any of your meals enjoyed at lunch or dinner. Also, these roasted bell peppers are great in tacos, burritos, next to some fried eggs, or even hummus. They pair perfectly with anything.
Recipe tips:
- Use colorful bell peppers or kapia peppers for this recipe.
- Peel off the skin before serving as they make too much mess on the table.
- Burrata or mozzarella are both suitable for this dish.
- Other veggies like cherries, carrots are welcomed on the plate.
- I like Balsamic glaze more than Aceto Balsamic. Here you can use anyone you like.
- You can gather all the ingredients together and create a salad. Or serve separately as I did.
