Some fried asparagus with eggs on toasts served for breakfasts are easy, delicious, and healthy! This tasty combo is something you will get quickly addicted to.
To love eating asparagus is something you should get used to. I adore asparagus cooked in any of its forms. A lot of garlic or some topped grated parmesan will make this greenie simply insanely tasty and healthy. I try to cook a lot of asparagus alongside any meat, fish, or some quick and easy toasts. This healthy vegetable can be prepared in many ways and can taste differently, but you can make it even better if you add more spices and herbs.
How does it taste?
Asparagus itself doesn’t have a pronounced aroma, however, coated in butter with garlic it can taste irresistible. I adore this simple, but so perfect combination between asparagus, eggs, and cheese.
This easy and healthy appetizer for breakfast can create your weekend’s morning look beautiful and taste delicious. Breakfasts set the mood of your day, so it is important to make you reach your health and wellness goals. Asparagus with eggs on toast is a great and good start of the day. I am always pro a wow-worthy and delicious breakfast as it is one of the meals I never skip. As I stated above, asparagus is one of the veggies I really adore and try to use in many of my recipes. I have to admit, that mid to late spring is the season I like to buy more asparagus as it is fresher and cheaper rather in winter. How do you make asparagus egg toast?
Asparagus topped with an egg on toast is something I never can refuse. This simple appetizer, that needs no much time and mess, is simply a healthy and delish start of the day. This recipe is good with bacon or other kinds of meat, but sometimes there are mornings I want to enjoy the crunchy aromatic asparagus meatless.
- 10-12 asparagus spears, ends trimmed.
- 4 slices of bread (anyone you have or like)
- 4 eggs
- ½ cup cream cheese
First, properly wash the asparagus and trim the ends. Some asparagus ends are hard to digest, so better cut them and leave only the fresh-looking spears.
For today’s’ recipe, I have decided to saute the asparagus in butter and garlic for a little extra burst of flavour. I adore using a lot of garlic in many of my recipes. This recipe is not an exception as I have used 8 or 10 cloves of garlic. Optional you can add some bay leaves or Rosmarin leaves for more aroma.
Cook the asparagus for about 3 to 5 minutes or until brown and tender. They shouldn’t be too soft as you tend to lose their health properties. Meanwhile, the asparagus is cooking, heat another skillet and fry the eggs. Season and cover the eggs to have soft-cooked egg yolks.
To assemble the toasts you can either bake them for 3-5 minutes, grill, or use fresh as they are. I baked some of them as I like crunchy toasts.
Spread 1 tbsp of cream cheese on each slice of bread. Top 3 spears of asparagus and the egg. Simple, and super tasty. Season some salt or pepper over the toasts. Serve immediately as the eggs are warm and soft.
You can make this simple asparagus recipe completely dairy-free as well.
- These toasts can be made of different healthy toppings. Use avocado slices or mashed, fried bacon, smoked salmon, cucumbers, parmesan and other ingredients you may find really interesting to this recipe.
- Avoid cream cheese, or substitute it with sour cream, or some ordinary cheese.
- Use hard fried eggs in case you don’t like the soft ones.
- Combine asparagus and eggs in a simple salad.
I am really excited to present this simple, yet delicious recipe to you. Enjoy this extra yummy and lovely dish for more breakfasts.
