Air Fryer Pineapple Recipe Ingredients

Ingredients required to cook pineapples in the air fryer are mentioned below:

  • 1 medium-sized fresh pineapple
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ cup pecans (for garnishing)

Can you use canned pineapple instead of fresh in the air fryer pineapple recipe?

Yes, you can use canned pineapple instead of fresh by draining the liquid and pat drying it to remove the excess liquid. I don’t recommend using canned pineapple because it doesn’t get adequately caramelized.

What equipment is required to make air-fried pineapples?

A 4-quart air fryer, parchment paper, a knife, and a bowl are required to make air-fried pineapples.

4 Steps to cook pineapples in the air fryer

  1. Peel, core, and slice the pineapple into chunks of 1 to 1.5 inches (2.5 to 3.8 cm).
  2. Add pineapple chunks, 1 tbsp cinnamon powder, and 2 tbsp brown sugar in a bowl to caramelize the pineapple. Mix and coat properly.
  3. Pre-heat the air fryer for 3 minutes at 390°F (198°C). Now, layer a parchment paper on the air fryer basket. Place pineapple chunks on the basket without overlapping and cook for 6 minutes at 390°F (198°C).

FAQ’s

Can I skip the brown sugar or use a substitute?

Yes, you can use coconut sugar, maple syrup, or a sugar-free brown sweetener (like erythritol) to decrease the carbs in the recipe.

Can I add other spices besides cinnamon?

Yes, you can add a pinch of nutmeg, clove, or allspice for a warmer and spiced flavor.

Can I add pecans during air frying instead of after?

No, I don’t suggest you add pecans during air frying as they will get burnt. But you can toast them and add them to the air-fried pineapples while garnishing.
