If speaking about the traditional dish, then a tartare became famous made of raw beef, sometimes topped with a fresh quail yolk. However, nowadays, there are many tartare recipes made of salmon, beef, tuna, and others. For example, if I make a beef tartare, I definitely add some pickles, but if I make a salmon tartare, I like to add some avocado. I have also used some avocado that pairs so perfectly with a raw tuna steak for the tuna tartare recipe.

What kind of tuna do you use?

Tuna tartare is a dish made of raw tuna meat cut up in small cubes and topped with any Asian flavours. Here you can add some lime juice, chilli, ginger sauce, or soy or sesame sauce. Any add-ins will just add more deep flavour, aroma, and colours.

Tuna Tartare in Soy SauceWho loves tuna as much as I do? Then you will find this 10-minute recipe lingering and tasty. I adore tartare made in anyways, and if I give a party, then some tartare dishes on the table only makes my dinner look expensive and fabulous.

Tartare has become truly fancy and popular in many restaurants, and it is expensive to eat much of it. Luckily it is easy to make at home and enjoy the amount you like.

A bunch of ingredients will turn your dish into a miracle and fabulous recipe.

Yet, here I have to mention that the most important part you should pay attention to is the best quality of fish you buy. When buying tuna steak for tartare, make sure it is fresh, has a nice deep pink colour, smells good, and is from a famous fish market. It is important to buy the freshest fish as you will use it raw. You don’t want to feel some side effects from a bad tuna steak.

Do you have to marinate tuna meat?

Tuna Tartare in Soy SauceOptional, you can marinate the steak in some acidic juice for some minutes, but I skip this moment as I try to eat raw tuna meat and feel its authentic taste.

Also, it is essential to keep your raw tuna meat on ice while you are working with it, and if you want a more elegant presentation, you can easily serve tuna tartare on cracked ice cubes.

The tuna tartare recipe is high in proteins, is quick to make, low-carb, and gluten-free. It is a little costly, but if you buy a nice piece of tuna steak, then be assured you will enjoy a great amount of the best tasting tuna tartare.

What is tuna tartare made of?

Tuna tartare is a simple dish but with an inviting colour and taste. It is made of raw tuna steak cut into small pieces and topped with anything you like. You can add some chopped avocado, sriracha sauce, lime or soy sauce. Tuna tartare resembles much tuna sashimi, except that sashimi contains raw tuna slices that are nicely arranged on a platter. In contrast, tuna tartare is usually made of small chopped tuna meat.
