This keto smashed broccoli recipe combines tender florets with a spicy-sweet cheese topping, air-fried for a crisp finish. It quickly prepares and works great as a snack or side dish.

Ingredients required to make keto cheese smashed broccoli in the air fryer are mentioned below.

  • 10 broccoli florets: Use cleaned broccoli florets in this recipe. I recommend using fresh florets. If you’re using frozen florets, thaw and pat them dry. 
  • 1 tbsp honey: You will need 1 tbsp honey for each broccoli floret. 
  • 2 tbsp mozzarella cheese: You will need 2 tbsp shredded cheese for each broccoli floret. Also, you can substitute mozzarella for cheddar, parmesan, or gouda.
  • 1 tsp chili flakes: We will need 1 tsp chili flakes for every broccoli floret. 
  • 1 tbsp salt: Salt will be used in the water in which we will boil broccoli florets.

An air fryer, parchment paper, and a small bowl for smashing the broccoli are required to make an air fryer keto cheese smashed broccoli recipe. 

6 Steps to Make Air Fryer keto cheese smashed broccoli recipe

  1. Add 1 tbsp salt to boiling water and add 10 broccoli florets to it. Boil them for 7-8 minutes or until the florets are tender. 
  2. Take parchment paper. Drop 1 tbsp honey, and add 1 tsp chili flakes and 1 tbsp mozzarella cheese on the parchment paper. 
  3. Place 1 broccoli floret on it. Smash it with a small bowl. 
  4. Then, add some salt and 1 tbsp mozzarella cheese on top of it. 
  5. Repeat the same process for one more broccoli floret. Place the parchment paper in the pre-heated air fryer. Cook for 5 minutes at 374°F (190°C). Since my air fryer is small, I only cook two florets at a time. You can cook more if you have a bigger air fryer. 
  6. Serve with air-fried pork skewers or as a savory snack.
