Halibut fish cooked in an air fryer could serve as a fancy restaurant meal, but it is surprisingly easy to make at home.
Halibut is a buttered fish; I call it a noble, healthy, low-fat fish. It is a white fish, easy to use, and delicious to eat. Halibut tastes even better if served next to veggies, potatoes, or salad. Cooking fish at home is always the best alternative to meat. Be it sea bass, sea bream, salmon, or halibut, fish is always the best idea when you want a balanced, light, and healthy meal.
Cooking halibut in an air fryer tastes decadent due to the crispy skin and the tender texture on the inside. Halibut has a mild taste, so a sauce or anything else will add flavor and aroma. Try making this recipe in the air fryer for an easy and fast dinner evening to impress your family.
I have tried cooking salmon in the air fryer, and the result was fantastic. The fish had perfect cooking and less smell and mess.
Since then, I have been cooking only in the air fryer to save time and to serve fabulous dishes. The air fryer cuts time and calories due to a perfect cooking process.
What is so special about halibut?
Halibut is a low-fat white fish full of omega, proteins, selenium, and a good antioxidant. This fish grew in oceans, which is why it is power-packed with magnesium, vitamins, and many other elements our body needs. It is an expensive fish, one which my family likes very much. One more advantage of this fish is its fewer bones compared to other round fishes. This moment makes it ideal for families where kids love to eat fish, as well as adults.
Halibut is not very oily; on the opposite, it is very healthy and beneficial.
Some examples of white, round fish you may use instead of halibut:
- Cod
- Sea bass
- Seabream
- Haddock
- Turbot
I want to accentuate that both; halibut filets and veggies were cooked in the air fryer. The process is faster, and the result is astonishing. I enjoy cooking in my air fryer and highly recommend it to everyone who hasn’t yet tried it.
The ingredients:
- One big piece of halibut fillet cut into 2 or 3 smaller ones
- Any veggies you have: I have used cherry tomatoes and broccoli floret
For the seasoning:
- 1 tsp fish herbs
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- Salt and pepper

First, preheat the air fryer to 360F ( 180C) for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, rinse and pat dry the halibut fillets.
Pour olive oil over and rub all spices on both sides of the halibut.
Place one sheet of aluminum foil in the air fryer’s basket and lay the fish filets on top of the foil.
Cook the fish in the air fryer for 6-12 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fish filets.
When time elapses, please take out the fish and enjoy it next to anything.

Tips
- Try to buy the freshest fish from the local market. Try to buy it fresh; nonetheless, frozen is also okay.
- The best-cooked fish has to be eaten on the same day, as reheating fish can taste different and bad.
- Serve fish next to any side dishes or appetizers you have. Veggies or salad is the best option.
- A little acid never killed anybody! A squeeze of lemon will refresh the taste of the fish and will add a burst of fresh aroma.

What is fish herbs?
Hello Martha,
Fish herbs are usually a mix of Provance spices with sea salt and paprika. However, you can simply use paprika with salt and it will be enough for the fish.
