Hummus topped with Beef is a simple recipe with a nice-looking aspect. It is an authentic and famous Middle Easterns recipe to take your expectations to another level.
Hummus as a recipe is nothing out of this world or a super fancy dish. Yet, useful and delicious especially mixed with some spicy ground beef and roasted nuts. Moreover, hummus was always associated with poor peoples’ dishes; however, now it gets a new aspect, taste, colour, and authenticity.Â
I adore hummus made in anyways. Especially on meatless days, I simply love to dip in some hummus paired with anything. For example, avocado, some dried tomatoes, any kind of meat, or anything else pair great with hummus. Since I have become addicted to hummus, I am always searching for new recipes, ideas, and flavours. Many of you may think of how hummus can pair with ground meat? Trust me; it tastes fantastic. I like to serve warm ground beef on hummus and enjoy it with a fresh/crusty baguette. And, nothing else matters.Â
It is really fantastic and tasty.Â
If you plan to give some parties, some dips will always save you time and imagination. Side dishes on my table go fast; this is why I am always spoiling my friends with some tasty and nice-looking dips.Â
Hummus is easy to make and simple to store for some days. You can check my classic hummus recipe here. But, you can also check some other hummus recipes made with different add-ins, such as:
What meat goes with hummus?
This simple recipe I have made with ground beef meat. However, hummus pairs great with many other kinds of meat such as lamb, pork, turkey, or chicken. Simply sauteed in garlic and a lot of species, any meat here is welcomed. Some warm pita or fresh baguette to dip in hummus topped with beef is something magical and ultra-delicious.Â
What is hummus made of?
Simple and easy, you can make hummus at home in just minutes. The classic Lebanese recipe is easy to make and needs only 1-2 canned chickpeas, Tahini paste optional, lemon juice, and spices. For tip: peel the chickpeas before blending if you use fresh chickpeas to taste much better.Â
However, nowadays, hummus became so popular that it is easily found in stores and of many varieties.Â
How to make hummus with ground beef?
It takes you some 20 minutes to make hummus topped with minced beef and seconds to enjoy that pleasant moment. I love hummus, as I have mentioned above, and try to find different recipes to diversify the dining menu. Ground beef with spices and nutmeg tastes fantastic, especially next to the hummus.
Start with roasting pine nuts. Pour some 2-3 tbsp olive oil into the skillet over medium heat and roast for 3 minutes or until golden brown and flavourful. Set aside.
In the remaining oil, add some more olive oil and ground beef. Mix and add the spices: ground garlic, cayenne pepper, pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and ground nutmeg for more aroma. Pour one glass of white wine and let it cook until all the water evaporates. Usually, it takes 15 to 20 minutes. The meat should have a nice brown colour and a delicious taste.Â
What about hummus? I have made it ahead and just added it to the platter topped with beef and roasted pine nuts.Â
Serve immediately while the beef is still warm and super delicious. Bon Appetit!
Can I freeze hummus?
I usually make more hummus at home and freeze it for some weeks. It is much easier to buy it in stores, but no one beats the homemade hummus made with love and qualitative ingredients. Keep it in an airtight container and thaw it overnight or some hours before serving it.
