Instant Pot Pulled Pork
- 1 pork loin
- 1 onion
- 1 carrot
- 1 piece ginger
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 bay leaves
- 5 cup water
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Jack Daniel's Sauce
- 1/2 cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 molasses
- 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tbsp Tabasco sauce
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
How to prepare the instant pot pulled pork
Peel and largely chop the carrot, onion, ginger, and garlic cloves
Cut the pork loin into 5 chunks and mix with the rest of the ingredients in the Instant pot
Pour 5 cups of water over the ingredients
Add salt, pepper, and bay leaves
Close with the lid and select the "pressure cooking", then select the "pork" option and press the "start" button
Release steam when the cooking program ends
Put the meat in a bowl and shred it with the help of 2 forks
How to prepare Jack Daniel's Sauce
Sautee the minced onion and garlic in half a cup of Jack Daniel's whiskey for 7 minutes on low heat in a saucepan
Add ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, smoke flavoring (it’s ok to skip it), Tabasco sauce, and simmer for 15 minutes in low heat.
Do not cover with a lid, let simmer until the sauce thickens
Mix the sauce with the meat and build up a burger
