Instant Pot Pulled Pork

  • 1 pork loin
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 piece ginger
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 5 cup water
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Jack Daniel's Sauce

  • 1/2 cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 molasses
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke

Instructions

How to prepare the instant pot pulled pork

  • Peel and largely chop the carrot, onion, ginger, and garlic cloves
  • Cut the pork loin into 5 chunks and mix with the rest of the ingredients in the Instant pot
  • Pour 5 cups of water over the ingredients
  • Add salt, pepper, and bay leaves
  • Close with the lid and select the "pressure cooking", then select the "pork" option and press the "start" button
  • Release steam when the cooking program ends
  • Put the meat in a bowl and shred it with the help of 2 forks

How to prepare Jack Daniel's Sauce

  • Sautee the minced onion and garlic in half a cup of Jack Daniel's whiskey for 7 minutes on low heat in a saucepan
  • Add ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, smoke flavoring (it’s ok to skip it), Tabasco sauce, and simmer for 15 minutes in low heat.
  • Do not cover with a lid, let simmer until the sauce thickens
  • Mix the sauce with the meat and build up a burger
