Ingredients

  • 3 medium apples
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flakes
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400F
  • Peel the apples; remove the seeds and dice the apples
  • Grease the interior walls and bottom of a baking dish with butter
  • Spread the apple dices in one even layer in the baking dish
  • Sprinkle over the apples 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tbsp of sugar, then mix
  • Use a bowl to mix the flour, melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • Crush the almond flakes and add it to the batter, mix again
  • Spread the batter over the apple dices
  • Sprinkle some almond flakes on top
  • Bake in preheated oven at 400F for 20 minutes
  • Remove from oven and allow to rest for 10-15 minutes
  • Scoop and serve in small bowls, top with ice cream
